Thank you in advance for any guidance you can offer in how to change the password on my PC which is somehow not syncing up with the reset password in my Microsoft Account. I can access my e-mails via but would prefer Outlook 2013.ĭo I need to remove the account from my PC and start over? Will that delete all my e-mails? I have tried to go into Account Settings in Outlook and do a repair but it also will not recognize the new password. I did a web search and found the suggestion to go into the Credential Manager via Control Panel and I clicked "Remove from vault" for the Outlook 2013 credential, which made it disappear. Somehow the password on my PC is still the old one (which I could not remember). I repeatedly enter the new password for my MicrosoftĪccount but the password is not recognized. Cause This issue occurs because Outlook 2016 or 2010 keeps trying to use the credentials that were cached for the old RPC over HTTP protocol. Since then, any time I try to access Outlook 2013 on my desktop PC, I get a popup window asking for a password. After the change, Outlook 2016 or Outlook 2010 users are repeatedly prompted for credentials to connect to Exchange Server. ![]() I used Outlooks Account Settings/Repair but that didnt help. Things appear to work normally when running maximized. Outlook 2016 is repeatedly asking for my user name and password when running minimized. ![]() A few hours ago I reset the password for my Microsoft Account because I could not remember it. Outlook 2016 repeatedly ask for user name and password.
